Ha ha ha, if you don't laugh you'll cry...

or go mental...
Met some other mums today. One of them said she gains 15 minutes a week with her 8 week old. i.e. with every week that passes he can go 15 minutes longer between feeds at night. He is now going from midnight til 5 or 6.
Meanwhile my 4 week old's longest stretch so far has been 3 and 3 quarter hours. So by the same rationale, gaining 15 minutes a week, I'd get to 4 hours and three quarters by eight weeks..... C'mon already!
It's funny the things that occupy your mind when you are totally sleep deprived.
I'm obsessed with looking at my watch when he wakes to see whether I've had more than an hour or two's kip since the last feed, and am then subsequently disappointed or gleeful depending on the result.
I think if you remembered how tiring/ wearing/ shattering it is having a newborn, then you wouldn't hurry about having another.
But everyone does... funny how nature has a clever way of making you forget the bad and remember the good. Hence why we often look at the past through rose tinted glasses.
Anyway, on a positive note, somehow you get through it and the night becomes day again and you might only have had 3 hours sleep but you are happy, as you have a little miracle to look after, plus the one you had already...
